My Classic Series of bamboo fly rods was developed to reflect the golden era of bamboo that extended from 1880 to 1960. Their smooth lines of slender Tonkin bamboo, glowing in flamed or honey finishes, flow up through a tapered winding stop into a short cigar shaped cork grip made from richly figured bamboo burl cork. The reel seats are made from highly figured native woods with simple nickel silver cups and sliding rings, all combining to present a fly rod that captures a slower time when fly fishing was still a soft quiet experience on pure flowing waters holding bright wild fish.

The rods are made from older American production rod blanks, and feature down-locking cup and sliding ring reel seats made with either American Black Walnut or Crotch Maple inserts and all nickel silver hardware. The winding stop is stepped and tapered nickel silver, and the stripper guide is polished agate resting in a nickel silver frame. All snake guides are stainless steel or chromed stainless steel, and all windings are hand-wound varnish-sealed silk. Extra tips are wrapped with an additional trim wrap to allow easy identification for tip rotation. The rods are hand-labeled with sealed India ink and finished with three coats of spar urethane varnish.

All rods are serial numbered, are registered with full documentation for future reference, and come with detailed documentation sheets, a custom rod sock, and a plain heavy-duty PVC tube.
